A spice, a tang, a hint flavour
It dresses the head of the broccoli
The arms of the beans
The perfectly shaped balls of baby tomatoes
The nuts, beans
It appears, here and there
Coating the leaves
Leaving the smaller, things alone
It adds a touch of colour
Illuminating the bowl
Giving the plain, grown vegetables
A bit of personality
And indeed,
It is a personal choice
But since when,
Did you,
Or could you,
tell me,
How I like my dressing?
What looks good, or tastes good, or is a good choice
There are standard ones of course
The more ‘appropriate ones’
Suited to different selections of foods
But since when
Did you,
Or could you,
Tell me
What is the right one?
